The growth curve

01

The challenge.

AetherHaus had everything you could want in a brand. A beautiful site, a stunning identity, a co-owner with a story worth telling, and a heritage worth talking about. Aufguss ceremonies, banya traditions, contrast therapy guided by a Wim Hof certified practitioner. What they did not have was a way for anyone searching online to find them.

02

The rebuild.

Before we touched a keyword, we rebuilt the site. Killed the old structure, restructured every page around what people actually came in for, and locked the brand voice in across every article and landing page that came after so they sounded like AetherHaus, not like a wellness template.

The approach.

Four pieces of work running at once. A rebuilt site, a library of writing, the co-owner's expertise visible on every health claim, and a faster, more trusted local presence on Google.

PILLAR 01

Built around the ritual.

Rebuilt the site around what people actually book. Aufguss ceremonies, sound journeys, yin yoga, cold plunge and sauna sessions. Fifteen new pages, each with a clear path to booking, a class pass or a private session.

PILLAR 02

A library of cold plunge and sauna writing.

Around thirty-two new articles. Deep guides on cold plunge, sauna, contrast therapy, breathwork and yin yoga. A dedicated set on Aufguss that no other Vancouver studio has written. Every smaller question buyers Google before booking gets a page.

PILLAR 03

Real expertise on every health claim.

Co-owner Dave Gu's story sits inside every article that touches health. Ankylosing spondylitis recovery, fifty home ice trays, Wim Hof certification, five hundred plus clients guided. Every health claim links back to a primary research source.

PILLAR 04

More reviews, faster site.

Coached AetherHaus on a Google review workflow they could run inside the studio. The team now sits at 320 plus reviews averaging 4.5 out of 5. Faster pages, the same business name, address and phone across every directory Google trusts.

04

What we actually did.

The detail underneath each pillar. The work that compounded into 89 AI citations and 120x organic traffic.

4.1

Rebuilt around the ritual.

The old structure was organised around generic services. The new one is organised around the experiences AetherHaus actually runs. Every visitor lands on the experience they came for, with a clear path to book, buy a pass or join a membership.

Nine class pages went live: Aufguss, Sound Journey, Yin Yoga, Pilates and Plunge, The Release, Recovery, Casual Open Haus, Silent Night and Social Open Haus. Plus a Nordic Spa Vancouver page, an Experiences hub, reframed sauna and cold plunge pages, and a new private bookings page for corporate and group work.

4.2

A library of cold plunge and sauna writing.

Around thirty-two new articles across five topic areas: cold plunge, sauna, contrast therapy, breathwork, and the community side of the practice. Five long-form guides anchor each area, including a six-thousand-word Vancouver guide to sauna and cold plunge, a six-thousand-eight-hundred-word Yin Yoga piece with Taoist history, and a banya guide covering Russian heat culture and venik massage.

The Aufguss set is the European heritage hammer. Four articles covering what Aufguss is, the art of the Aufgussmeister, the Eastern European tradition, and how a banya session differs from an Aufguss ceremony. No other Vancouver studio writes about this. AetherHaus now owns the topic.

The rest of the library answers every smaller question buyers Google before booking. Silent sauna, essential oils in the sauna, sauna versus steam room, how long to stay, what temperature, what to wear, sauna etiquette, benefits after a workout, Himalayan salt sauna. Plus a sound journey explainer grounded in UCSD research.

4.3

Voice held, expertise shown.

AetherHaus already had a sharp editorial voice that did not sound like a wellness template. The job was to keep it that way across thirty-two articles and fifteen new pages. The rules we locked in: no prescriptive timing, no protocol stacks, no wellness clichés. Sensation-led language on every page.

Co-owner Dave Gu's story carries the expert authority. His ankylosing spondylitis recovery, his fifty home ice trays before AetherHaus existed, his Wim Hof Method certification, and the five hundred plus clients he has guided through cold exposure. That story sits inside the articles where health is the subject. The Himalayan Salt Sauna piece, the athletes cold plunge guide, the breathwork pieces.

Every health claim travels with a research source. Laukkanen, JAMA 2015 on Finnish sauna and cardiovascular mortality. Søberg et al., Cell Reports Medicine 2021 on brown fat activation. PLOS One on cold exposure and inflammation. Mayo Clinic on safety.

4.4

More reviews, stronger local presence.

Placements in wellness and lifestyle publications brought new links pointing at the site. Brand mentions across the web that did not link to AetherHaus were tracked down and converted into proper links. The same business name, address and phone got copied across Apple Maps, TripAdvisor, Yellow Pages and every other directory Google trusts.

We coached AetherHaus on a Google review workflow built around the moment a session ends. The studio executed. AetherHaus now sits at 320 plus reviews averaging 4.5 out of 5. The map results on Google started behaving differently inside the first six weeks.

4.5

Faster site, cleaner foundation.

Images compressed, scripts trimmed. The site went from sluggish to fast. Broken links fixed, the site tested on every screen size, and the right behind-the-scenes labels added so Google can show AetherHaus's classes directly in the search results. The map of the site was cleaned up and resubmitted to Google. Links between articles and class pages now point cleanly toward booking.

Video backgrounds were banned. They were burning through the hosting plan and adding nothing for ranking. That decision went into every contractor brief, so no future build recreates the problem.
